Extension Leads & Cable Reels For Outdoor Use

Extend power sources safely with extension cable reels and cords from Toolstation. These flexible electrical power cable lengths include a standard plug at one end and several sockets at the other, letting you extend the reach of an electrical outlet and multiply outputs. Explore extension cords and cables in various lengths to suit your needs, including outdoor extension leads and tower extension leads.

Surge-Protected Extension Leads

Choose surge-protected extension leads to safeguard electrical items. These leads are designed to protect your electrical devices and appliances from power surges and voltage spikes, which can damage or destroy vital components. Ensure all other power sources are protected from electrical fires and electric shock by choosing RCD plugs and sockets. Choose metal-clad RCD sockets for factories or workshops to ensure durability and extra protection.

Long Extension Leads

Extra-long extension leads are helpful for domestic and commercial applications, providing power wherever needed. We stock 1, 2 and 4 gang extension sockets in black and white, with cable lengths ranging from 2m to 25m.

Outdoor Extension Leads

Outdoor extension leads are designed for when you need to extend your power supply outside. They’re perfect for using garden appliances like lawnmowers and grass trimmers. Shop outdoor extension leads with high IP ratings to protect against water damage or dust on busy sites. Our durable extension cables and cords are designed for short-term or temporary use and shouldn’t be left outside.

Tower Extension Leads

Tower extension leads are built to stand upright rather than horizontally across flat surfaces. Their vertical configuration makes them ideal when working in tight spaces. We stock tower extension leads up to 10 gangs, so you can plug in multiple devices simultaneously. Some also include USB ports and on/off switches.

Waterproof Extension Leads

Waterproof extension leads are perfect for outdoor or wet environments where they’ll be exposed to water and moisture. They’re weatherproof and water-resistant and include sealed sockets and plugs. Some are also UV-resistant and suitable for outdoor use in the sun. Choose Masterplug for heavy-duty waterproof extension leads that are easy to handle and include thermal cutouts. We offer a range of 2 socket options, with cable reels between 20m and 30m.

Extension Lead Safety Tips

Following basic safety practices ensures your extension leads perform reliably and reduce the risk of electrical faults:
- Always fully unwind a cable reel before use to prevent overheating
- Never daisy-chain multiple extension leads together
- Choose leads with a sufficient amp rating for your intended appliances
- Avoid running extension cables under carpets, rugs or through doorways where they can be damaged
- Use RCD-protected leads for outdoor and workshop use for additional safety
